For some reason I have never thought about this before but you are SO right. I can never have short hair and long hair that flips between blond and brunette. [Well, unless I invested in some wigs I suppose..] I can never be the perfect amount of skinny, curvy, and fit, while being ‘down to earth’ and indulging in Super Bowl snacks and beer. And why should I? Isn’t the point to find someone that likes you for being, you?
This just justifies the secret. In order for someone else to be really into you, You have to be really into you. Find the hair, weight, snack consumption whatever it may be that makes you feel the best about yourself, and that is when a man will become enthralled with the person you are.
But point #5 is pretty funny. I don’t see guys reading magazines on how to make women like them. Why should it be expected of us? Boo Cosmo.
THANK YOU for writing this. The media does this all the time and it drives me freaking nuts. I worked at a men’s magazine for three years, and they never had tips on how to make a woman “like you” (unless it was a”100 ways to blow her mind in the bedroom” article).
Also…if I had a penny for every time my husband said “What is THAT THING you’re wearing?!?!” I’d be a rich woman. Doesn’t he know by this point the fancy clothes aren’t meant to impress him?

I couldn’t agree more! Those magazines claim to be all about empowering women, but every time I read one I end up feeling crappy. It has nothing to do with super model layouts and everything to do with “what men like” articles. Thank you for this!
I had to comment because what the eff was up with the first comment?
