Foodstuffs: Feb. 4 – Feb. 11

foodstuffs 1-3

I’m still really struggling to get my day going today. After a really solid weekend, I got distracted last night by the Beyonce concert and the commercials (which were so meh), plus a margarita, and had to stay up late to get more work done. But the rest of the world still seems half-asleep too, so I suppose that’s good.

Here’s what’s on our menu this week!

Breakfasts

We have sausage from the farmers market, plus croissants! Croissants make for a good week.

Lunches

Leftovers, per usual!

Dinners

super bowl dinner

Buffalo chicken pizzas + Meyer lemon margaritas (This was our Super Bowl dinner and it was great!)

Chipotle pork burgers (we didn’t end up having these last week)

Cheesesteak sliders

Beef & avocado burritos

Steak + veggies + bread

Creamy pesto chicken and bow tie pasta

Pizza

Workouts

Well, much like last week, I did an extra workout this week and still missed my overall goal. Clearly, getting to a workout class each week is difficult for me right now, so I’m going to make going to workout classes a twice-a-month goal in February, not a once-a-week goal. This weekend was kind of great though; the weather was gorgeous and I spent a lot of time at my desk, so Eric and I took long walks each afternoon, which felt great. I also started my heart and hip opening challenge. My plan for this week is to do three workouts that are at least 30 minutes and also keep up my challenge.

How is your week shaping up?

I’m so glad that you posted this! I’m traveling and this reminded me that I need to aim for some healthy normalcy – I just hit up a market for healthy, simple snacks & coconut water. I’m even going to get a day pass to my friend’s gym so that I can keep up my physical therapy during Fashion Week! :)

I had the same sentiments about the commercials last night. I expected more quality! I liked a few (Geiko’s Dikembe Mutombo ad, the Ram trucks/farmers ad, Kia’s “where do babies come from?” ad), but for the most part I couldn’t care less about them–and that’s the only reason I even watch the Super Bowl. So disappointing.

The only redeeming moment of the whole night = Doritos goat. I’m a sucker for a pygmy goat in a commercial.

Where did last week go? I didn’t pay any attention to the ads last night – my friend E came back from Japan and Australia and I hadn’t seen her in a month, so we sat and talked for a long time while the guys watched the game.

I’m starting to prepare everything for my first dress fitting (the 16th)! Which means lots of walking in the Wedding Shoes and looking at various bustles online to see which I prefer.

I went running last night instead of watching the super bowl. HA! I just went running last night, I’ve never watched the super bowl (except for one year in college in our co-op when the rest of the hippies and I tried to decipher the rules of the game and ate vegan junk food). But running around all the neighborhood bars last night was festive!

Today just felt long…I hope it’s not a sneak preview of the week.
